Like all cancers, mouth cancer is most treatable when caught and diagnosed early, and as your dentist, we are the most suitably placed for spotting and noticing any changes or abnormalities in the mouth.

Yes, of course. While we always perform these screenings during regular examinations, if you have noticed anything abnormal or are worried about anything, then you can call our reception team and book a mouth cancer screening with us as soon as possible.
If we notice anything during a screening that causes us concern, we’ll either ask you back for a follow-up and further tests or refer you to a specialist.
There are a few factors that might make you more at risk of mouth cancer than others. These include being – or having been – a smoker, drinking spirits in large amounts, having had the HPV virus, and regular exposure to the sun (without SPF protection).
